Hanuman Jayanti

We celebrate the birthday of Lord Hanuman on the 15th day of Shukla Paksha, during Chaitra month also known as (the Chaitra Pournimaa). Lord Hanuman also known as the Vanara god's birthday is widely known as Hanuman Jayanti or Hanumath Jayanti.

Hanuman worships Lord Rama, and there are innumerable tales and legends associated with the two in Ramayana. Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated across the country with full gusto where devotees throng the temples to seek the lord's blessings.
Lord Hanuman symbolises engery, strength and power. His swiftness makes him fly high and even get Sanjeevani bhooti for Lord Laxmana.
Also, in Maharashtra, the Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on the full moon day (pūrnima) of the Hindu lunar month of Chaitra.

What to do:

You can recite Hanuman Chalisa on this day and pray to the lord for good health and strength. The lord destroys all that is evil, keeping you energised.
You can visit the Hanuman temple and offer prasad—laddoo, boondi and red tilak (or sindoor). You can even offer vastra to the lord—preferably orange coloured.
Pray to lord for everyone's well-being with pure heart and soul.
You can also visit any temple of Lord Ram, as lord Hanuman will also be there, accompanying the 'Maryada Purshottam' king and his complete family—Sita and Laxman.
